Just a Growin' Boy #3

When we last checked in with Barney it was 10 days ago. Out this morning to see if I could cross paths with him and see how his new set of antlers was developing. As luck would have it, I found him in the same area he has been frequenting the past few weeks. I almost walked past him as he was blending in so well with the BG vegetation. But I stopped and set up and followed him for a bit as he fed. The posted image isn't the best compositionally but I chose it because it showed his antlers the best. By way of self critique, I realize he is too centered, the BG is way too busy, and there are other extraneous pieces of veg that could be cloned out. But, we can see that he has grown in 10 days. The secondary spikes are longer and the ends of the main beams look like they may now fork at the top. Looks like he's going to be quite some dude come fall. As usual there was nothing done to attract or otherwise affect his behavior. Full frame as posted. Comments and critiques welcomed and appreciated.

Good image Peter. I do hope you will be able to follow "Barney" until his antlers are fully developed and shed of the velvet. IMHO if you could have moved just a bit so the tree trunk was not behind him it would be a better photo. Enjoying this set of images, thanks for sharing. Also like you story behind the photos.

Good self-critique here Peter, I have nothing to add  . Thanks for keeping us posted on Barney's development.

This is a good portrait. The extraneous vegetation is where I see deer a lot, so it doesn't bother me. I might crop a bit off the left to focus on the deer even more.

He is going to be a dandy. Now that he is become patterned by you, maybe you can get him in a cleaner background setting! Detail on the buck is very nice.
