Lake at Munnar

This is my first post in the Landscape Gallery.

Munnar is a hill station in Southern India. It has many water bodies and this is one of the lakes. This was taken in winter 2012 and there was morning mist hanging on the surface of the lake even after the Sunrise. Due to light winds, the mist was moving. Hence to add a dreamy effect, I used a slow shutter speed of 1/2 second. To achieve this I had to step my 50mm down to F22 and use a polarizer (i did not have an ND) to reduce the light further.

The boats are used for pleasure ride after 9am.

Canon 40D, Canon 50mm 1.4, ISO 100, F22, 1/2sec, Polarizer

Please provide me your feedback.

Hi Murali - Very moody with the mist rising off the lake.

Due to the presence of the boats, I need to move your image to M&N Gallery. Hope you understand.

A very pleasant and serene image. I like the planning you have put into this.

I like the softness created by the slow shutter speed. The light is nice on the boats, and the scene looks peaceful.

Nice simple composition that works well. The mist helps the ethereal feel to the image.
