Crowfoot Mountain on Bow Lake at sunrise, Banff Canada

The sun is actually to my back in this view. This beautiful mountain is just over 10,000 ft and rises ~3700 ft above Bow Lake. You can't really see sunrise from this vantage point except for its effect on the surrounding mountains.

Wonder if the centered symmetry works here.

Canon 5DM2
Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II at 20mm
ISO100 1sec f/16
2-stop soft gradient

Thanks for having a look and for any comment or suggestions. Processed in LR4 and CS6 minimally.

I second that! Beautiful! Great scene, wonderful light and colors. Your large version of this puts me right in that spot you were standing. I like the feel I have looking at this, and this comp works very nice for me. Makes me want to take a deep breath of air! :toast:

Great light hitting the peaks there Eva. I think the centred shoreline along with the centred peak works well in this case. Great reflection

A beautifully crisp mountain scene Eva. Love the clarity of detail and the glassy surface of the water. The centeredness works for me ok with the curve of fg rocks adding a nice element to break up the symmetrical balance.

Stunning light on the mountain, Eva. The reflection is outstanding. Love the ribbons of light on the lake to either side of the mountain and how the beach disappears into the water. Your composition works well, even with the centered mountain, as the beach on the left foreground provides just enough weight to counter the mountain in my opinion. The large image glows.

Seems like any shot you take that includes water is sure to be outstanding. This is lovely and the centered subject seems to increase the visual impact in this comp. Very nice

Another vote in favor of the centered shoreline...works very well in this image. The top to bottom ratio works real well here too. Love the color and peacefulness here as well! :toast:

The symmetry certainly works for me Eva, this looks terrific. The light hitting the peak is nice and you have some caught some nice shadow detail in the lower slopes. Sharp, detailed and with very nice saturation.

Gary.

Wow, what an impressive scene! I wouldn't change anything about it. Love the snowfield on the backside of the mountain on the left...

Eva, your image has great impact on me. The static and symmetric composition fits in perfectly with the scene in my opinion, and I appreciate the tangible foreground elements leading me into the composition.

Superb quakity reflection wonderful clean palette sky with a crrespondingly beautiful hot patch of sunlight showing up the crinkly nature of the mountain ridge. Really like this one Eva it has great presence and that is enhanced by its central composition.
