Tiarella flower

Tiarella is also known as Foamflower; this variety is called "Iron Butterfly". I have several varieties of foamflower; they do well in shade. The leaves are quite pretty in their own right which means they still add interest to my beds after the flowers are done blooming.

Canon Rebel T1i. 180mm macro lens. F/5.6 for 1/8 sec. ISO 100. Tripod mounted, natural lighting.

Pretty! Love the form of these flowers, with the star petals. They do remind me of butterflies.Nice colour contrasts with the oranges and greens, and perfect DOF to allow a few softly OOF flowers in the BG.
Well done!
Sandy .

I am not familiar with this flower. I am going to look into these for my shade garden. The flower is beautiful and your photo is excellent.

Carolyn - The angle chosen for this shot is just perfect - bringing so many full blooms and the few buds at the top in excellent focus. The slant strengthens the composition.

A very nice photo in my books :toast:

Very nice image. I also like the dof and the nice colors. The flowers really pop from the background.
