I like the way the colors came at me. Some parts could be more in focus.

Canon 7D
100 mm macro
1/60 at f6.3
ISO 400
natural light

Processed in Helicon focus (7 stack) and PS5- sharpened, no color enhancement

I think this is a superb image Allen. I like the DOF choice with the centre in sharp focus. One's interest is pointed directly into the middle as a result. The wonderful backlight really gives a glow to this beautiful tulip image. :toast: :toast:

Wow, this photo has impact! The backlighting is superb to show off the interesting center. The interesting variety of color in the petals is highlighted nicely by the backlight. Great shot, Allen!

Nicely seen. The viewer is drawn right into the heart of the photo.

Allen - Very nice idea - love the Tulip center against the soft backlighting. The lighter colors in the center contrasts nicely with the darker oranges/reds in the periphery.

I do see some stacking artifacts and a bit of reflected light from the front is what I would have tried.

Allen:
Nice idea and the result is quite pleasing. Like the yellow glow at the base in the upper half but would have been better if this extended all round. Some reflected light fill would bring out the color of the stigma and an anthers. There is also some stacking artifact.

Great impact with that burst of backlit color in the upper portion, dividing the frame nicely.
Your DOF works fine for this type of shot IMO:toast:

DOF seems just right to me. Reminds me of those old kaleidoscopes back in the 60s.
