It turns out a lot of my bird photos fit the monochrome theme – I like to get my subjects in natural habitat, and there's survival value in blending in to a setting.

This bird does blend very well with his setting. I like all those wonderful shades of gray/brown. Good details on the bird with a nice blurred background. Another great bird shot, Richard!

Lovely browns. Maybe a smidgen too tight, but this is what telephoto mavens strive for. Practically perfect in every way. The angle of the lighting is excellent.

The crispness of the feathers and the bird in general is wonderful.
I'm a little confused still on the monochrome issue but this is a great capture.

Beautiful shot of this little bird. All the subtle shades of warm brown make this a wonderful portrait.

Lovely bird, Richard. The pose and lighting are excellent, and the out of focus background couldn't be better.
