No Moon 2

One more image from the night when the Super Moon did not appear. The western sky did give some very dramatic images. My wife is not totally sure about my sanity sometimes, when it comes to photography. We were under the dark part of the clouds and it was raining. I had a cover on the camera and the wind was blowing fairly strong. But hay, life is an adventure and sometimes the best images are under the not so "best" circumstances. I appreciate all of your input and critiques.

What an astounding sky. Emotions build up with each cloud layer. Great shot!

I like that the sky gets all the attention here. Wonderfully dramatic and expansive. I like this one even better than your first. Very nicely done

You did well that night, Richard, even without the moon  . Awesome clouds and light!

This is fantastic, Richard. Skies like this set the plains ablaze and you have captured them splendidly here. Excellent comp with just enough landscape to anchor the scene while not competing for attention from the sky. I also like the layers created by the variation of colors and tones in the clouds.

Oh yeah, were you saying something about the moon?

The Super Moon is over rated  and as a consolation prize, you got an awesome shot! The clouds are terrific with all the layers and the fire on the horizon really is beautiful as well.

I've had this experience too where the absence of the an anticipated moon opened up new possibilities. This is certainly a nice alternative.
