Saturday night was a perigree moon in which the moon was to appear about 15% larger in the sky. So I headed out to one of my favorite spots to watch it rise. This is actually one image out of a time lapse sequence. What do you all think?

Captivating image Tonia. I think the pure black silhouette works well. Maybe a bit too much black space for me, but not a big deal. I was wondering when images from Saturday's moon were going to appear.

You got a great moon indeed, Tonia- The silhouette is very pleasant, as your composition choice- I'd leave it as is, in my opinion the moon should be just there- Very well done, Fabio

I think the composition works very well and would not crop. The moon is is a great place in the frame. Nicely captured.

Very nice Tonia. Great moon and the saguaro silhouette places the image to a very unique region. An iconic kind of photo. Nice job.

Really nice detail, and the color is just as good. I also like the silouhetted Saguaro.

I think your use of negative space creates a strong composition and you have some nice detail in the moon. Nicely done.

Beautiful image Tonia! As others have said, the negative space works well. The silhouetted Saguaro is really wonderful.

It was cloudy on Saturday here in Central Texas, so no perigree moon for me :frown:
Love the cactus in silhouette, great timing on this classic view..
Well done!

Beautiful shot. I am wondering, is the cactus a bit OOF because you focused on the moon? I shot a moonrise with a tree in the foreground and shot them all focused on the moon, and kicked myself later when the tree was soft. I wasn't doing a silhouette like you did, so it was much more obvious in mine.
