Belted Kingfisher perched in the falling rain.

I like this image from a few years ago . The rain falling with his shaken feathers displaying good definition in an overcast morning.

Fuji s5 pro camera / Nikon lens 200-400 VR F4/ taken at f4.5 / iso 2oo/ 1/100 speed / manfrotto tripod / ball head / taken using jpg./

full frame taken at 7:20am .

Constructive comments encouraged.

Thanks

Bill

Bill, how did you ever get this close to a kingfisher? That's one of my dreams. This is a wonderful image.

Bill~ I have chased these elusive birds around for a few years and had very little luck. You have a winner here.

Good work getting so close. The streaks of falling rain add to the image.

Great image, Bill. The rain and fluffed feathers add a lot of character to this image. The lighting is very nice. Overcast days can sure help nailing the exposure on these guys and avoiding blowing the white whites. :toast:

Great shot Bill, the rain adds a lot to this. The head is the sharpest part which is always good. I think being this close you could have used a little more iso and dof to get the rest of the body tack sharp but that's a minor note on an excellent shot. :toast:

Hello Barbara .... Sometimes they Visit my pond in the Back Forty, but Not everyear!

I too think the Rain being Visible Adds to the Overall Image, Thanks Rick, Hans, Richard, Craig, Angela & Ron, May,Lucas . !!:)

Hello Keith, The bird was Shaking off Some of the Rain & appears softer because of the very slow Shutter.

Hello Nate, Taken several years ago & Yes DOF adjusted would have given me More Sharpness All Over.

Thanks All, for the Candid Comments, much Appreciated !!:)
