Exposure: Aperture priority matrix metered, ISO 400, 1/800th @ f/8
Raw, PS CS3 on Mac G4, full frame

Another "low glamor" common species. But that doesn’t matter if I can make a nice composition from one.

Beautifully artistic with that still, smooth water allowing the perfect reflection and the color of the water so complementing the colors of the bird.

I like the image. The lack of background detail makes the bird and the reflection stand out. I have a visceral "placid and serene" reaction to it.

Lovely light. I like all the "blank space" that you have in this image. Really makes the bird and reflection pop.
