I normally try to not clip petals, and am not sure if this works.
D80, 18-270 @ 270, Iso100, F22 2 1 sec, tripod etc.
I look forward to suggestions and comments.

The colors and flower are nice, but it seems that it is not as sharp as it could be.

Clipping petals depends on what you're trying to do. I think it works here, but I'd clip even more, cropping a most (or all) of the dark upper left and maybe a bit from the bottom to retain some flow.

Robert - Like the unusual composition and the Wave like interpretation for the Petals. I don't mind the petals getting clipped but it could have been a bit more sharper and may be you can check the histogram to see if the Whites are over exposed on some areas.

Bob, you have captured beautiful magnolia. Well composed and finely detailed photo against a nice BG. :toast:

Bob:
This is an uncommon POV for a magnolia. I prefer to see the whole petal in this case to complete the waves rather have the eyes move out of the frame. Could do with some more sharpening.

Hi Robert :wavey: I would have composed it differently...... by backing up a bit, and By taking in the whole bloom on the left. and reduce the centre. and room on the rt.. This beautiful bloom has great potential. give it another try
