Braving the Storm

I thought I would post another image from our past Yellowstone trip. My dad and I had woken up early to look for some wolves. We went to Lamar Valley, but only spotted wolves far in the distance. On the way back (still in Lamar, though) we spotted 3 nice pronghorm bucks. Two of them were staring at each other (I was hoping they would spar a bit...but they didn't  ), and the other was laying down in the snow. This guy was the best to take pictures of because he just wouldn't stop posing! After a while he decided to move closer to the other two bucks. It was starting to snow a little harder...now I'm not saying it was a blizzard, but I might say it was a storm  . This image, however, does not show how heavy the snow really was:wink:. I positioned myself for the shot and tried my best to focus through all the snow. Luckily, it worked and I am very happy with the results!

Thank y'all for lookin'!

Nice job of getting sharp focus in a snow storm! I do wish just a bit more detail in the snow. Thanks for sharing.

He is obviously struggling to walk into that gale force storm wind Jenaya  . I like the strong forward moving pose with the good leg separation as well as the the fact that he is angling a bit towards you. The all white environment sets off the buck nicely too. More 'visible storm' would have been cool though and make this a bit more interesting. That of course was not within your control.

I like the treatment here and the blown out snow does the image well. Different strokes for different folks. Bravo

Good "eye" on your part in timing this buck for the optimum walking posture, giving separation of legs and at a moment in the stride to add the best sense of movement/tension. Techs look great. I think this is one of your best postings!

The leg angle and positioning of the buck in the frame work very well together to give him the leaning forward to move attitude. Very nice with the snow flakes and all white backdrop.
