Hey everyone! Another fox image we captured last week. We were spending some time in Waterton looking for this fox. After spotting him, we got to hang out with him for quite a while! Being a Waterton fox (hanging around in the campground) he is really used to people driving around. The problem occurs, however, when you try to get OUT and get a lower angle on him  . As is the problem with most other wildlife  .

This image was taken near the end of our time with him. He had actually just gotten a meal, and after eating it went straight back to hunting. He was walking along when all the sudden he stopped! He pricked his ears forward and started to stalk his prey. We watched to see if he would pounce, but sadly he didn't. On that ocassion he didn't get the meal he was after :frown: .

Thanks for looking...more fox images to come   !

Nikon D300
Nikkor 300mm f/4 ED with 1.4TC
ISO 640

shot on beanbag from truck window
cropped to pano
cloned out some distracting pieces of grass, very minor though!

Jenaya, this is crazy good! The pose of the fox, so still and so intent, against the waving grass lends depth and substance to the experience. Outstanding! :toast:

This is a beauty Jenaya! I really appreciate the good detail, textures and colros of the fur and that bushy tail. The soft light helps in bringing all that out. What also helps the image a lot is the small catch light in that dark eye; this really completes the image and makes the large version a must-see! :toast:

I think the pano works well here and that coat is beautiful with a nice big bushy white tail.

Really nice - fine detail, and the soft colours of the grasses really compliment tht reds of the fox.
The pano crop also works great, with the long, thin pose of the fox.
Another great image!

Hello Jenaya

Love those Expressive little Guys. Always a treat to watch them!
Clean & sharp with Excellent Detail in the image. well exposed Fox, with the Softer grasses diffused some. This selective focus & exposure separates & brings out the fox from surrounding vegetation.

Well done, A Pleasure to see & enjoy your Images!!!
