Roaring Fork

Perhaps the easiest spot to get to in the Great Smoky Mountains is also one of the best for springtime shooting. The Roaring Fork Motor Trail is a loop road that allows one to drive right up to the creek, park and shoot. That's assuming you can find a spot open for your car. The crowds were down last weekend but the Roaring Fork River (creek?) was fantastic. Just enough water and the moss was still on the rocks. I took this shot while it was raining which really popped the colors.

Nicely composed. Just enough muted green background.

Really nice Richard. Exposure is spot on and colors and light are perfect.

Richard, I was there just a couple of weeks ago (my first time in the spring). I agree that the moss really set the scenes off nicely. Good work.

I was way off. I was guessing NW forest when this first opened. That's what I get for living in the desert. This is really nicely done. The light and textures all look right.

This stream rules, and so does your photo of it! :toast:

well done Richard, I just visited this area this past weekend and loved how everything was brilliant green stream side. I really like your take here with the angle on the cascades.
