Look Over Your Shoulders

SUBJECT: WC # 531 " Funny animals"

TITLE: "Just look over your shoulders honey!"

I just returned from a windy, rainy canoe trip where I did not shoot much, but when I saw this Canada goose napping on the dock Saturday morning, this WC came to mind. (The goose cooperated by opening its eyes briefly for this shot.)

The bird was looking over both shoulders at the same time! That reminded me of the line in the Jackson 5 song "I'll Be There" -- "Just look over your shoulders honey!" I always thought that line was funny. How can anyone look over BOTH shoulders?. (Funnier if you remember the line was copied from the hit "Reach Out" where the Four Tops sang "Just look over your shoulder.") Well, finally this goose proved it can be done!

"You think I'm sleeping but I have my eye on you mister!" Love the stance of this guy; one often sees geese resting with their head on their back but the angle you captured in addition to his eyes being open and glaring at you makes this capture special. Good simple background for this shot and nice details on the goose. Great find for the theme, Wayne!

I think it looks like he's thinking, "are you lookin' at me?!" .

Great DOF. I love the detail in his feathers. Also love the pose and look, of course :wavey: ,

Nice angle. This definitely looks unnatural. Interesting exposure as well. I like the way the water came out in this one.
