Shuksan Dawn

Another version, view of Mount Shuksan. High clouds were an issue in my mind, but the Grad and Polarizer seemed to help a bit. I just wish the trees would have had more detail, however, I do like the details in the grasses in the water, the ice on the water, and the reflection. It was very cold that morning to say the least, and I did drop kick my cell phone into the water, which made the trip that much more memorable. If I golfed, it would have been an awesome chip shot...Plunk!

Comments and Critique welcome. Thanks for looking!

Hi Michael, This is a very interesting image, and I'm really enjoying it. At first look it didn't quite register what the reflection was doing. When I clicked on the large version it was like...what is going on here? Ends up being a really cool look with the ice and open water in combination with the reflection. Very cool looking. So you got a new cell phone!

You really need to see the large version on this one. I love the way the reflection goes from the clear open water to the pastel, opaque on the thin ice..great positioning for this one!

Nice scene , ice split of the water is interesting dividing line.Color tint in a cloud seems slightly off putting. Well captured.

Yeah, the clouds seem to work pretty well here. Agree that it would be nice to have more texture in the darks in the trees, but the great foreground detail and the mountain and the sun keep my eyes totally occupied.
