Gladding McBean

If you're a pottery collector, then you know that name. The Gladding McBean pottery factory, in Lincoln, CA, has been operating for over 75 years. Most is shut down, and exists in wonderful stasis, slowly aging. There were annual opportunities to photograph it, but not any longer. I did make a portfolio of images there in one weekend. This is one of them.

Beautiful, Jeffrey. Wonderful light and great use of shadows and depth of field. I like this a lot.

The b&w really concentrates your emphasis on the line & texture. Great use of light, great composition. Often, the simpler the image the more power it has.
