Leopard in Ice

Olympus E-5, 12-60mm at 35mm, tripod
f3.7, 1/50, ISO1600

My first post to the Pop Gallery. Showing the detail in the Leopard that was part of the grand champion sculpture in the multi-block competition at the World Ice Art Championships.

The carvings are 100% ice, carved under a deadline, by competitors from dozens of countries. The work of the top tier carvers is truly extraordinary. And it is transient art. In a couple of weeks, they are all puddles.

90% of full frame. Slight sharpening.

C & C, please. Thanks for looking.

Excellent ice carving and image. Can't image the time it takes to make one of these and the heartbreak when it melts. Thanks for posting it.
