The End

From Iceland’s glacier lagoon at Jokulsarlon.
I was intrigued by the odd shapes and tempted to call this “Henry Moore goes Iceland” or something along those lines, but found the above more poetic... other suggestions welcome
and no, I did not rearrange a single one of these crystals...

This has been resting on my hard drive for a couple of years, because I could not get the processing right in trying to combine exposures to deal with the sun flare.
Would love to hear if the processing works for you, please view large.

Amazing light! The ice and water look fantastic. Great reflections and wonderful detail too. Glad you finally got the processing done! This is really cool to look at. Very nice work, Karsten :toast:

It definitely works for me. Good detail, excellent treatment of highlights and shadows. The colors are spot on IMO. I could wish for less flare; it commands the eye too much, and is not really what the photo is about.

The warm/cool contrast makes this quite stunning, Karsten. To some degree, I find the sun a distraction. When I block it out, the glowing ice really takes center stage.

Most excellent Karsten. I'm on the other side of the fence, love that great sun. My only wish is more ice to fill the lrc.

The illuminated foreground ice is my favorite part of the image. The dynamic sky, sunstar and pretty reflection are also very nice. I do wish there was a bit more breathing room between the foreground ice and the edges of the frame.

Thanks for your feedback.

Sebastian, this is a blend of 3 shots, one of which is double-processed.

Superb image Karsten - I understand your naming temptation very well.

I just love the way the transmitted light looks on the near side of those chunks of ice - marvellous :toast:

I really like the way the light is hitting the fg ice. The highlights in the water appear to be a little bright than the sky. Nicely done.

Looks great in my opinion. The colors look very believable. An exotic looking place.
