Crocus # 2

by Albert Darmo

Nikon D300, 150mm, F/3.5, 1/400, ISO 250.

A different perspective, a larger grouping of blooms, let me know how it compares with Crocus # 1. Comments appreciated.

A tough job comparing #1 and this one, Albert. Both have their appeal. I like this loads but my eye is drawn a little more than needed to the triangular background slice in the top left. If Crocuses extended into that corner as well, it would strengthen the photo immensely in my opinion.

Very beautiful - but I like the first one a bit more. Can't say exactly WHY - just my gut!
Again, beautiful colours accented by the splach of yellow.
Fine work! Looking forward to more, I hope.

very nice group of crocus, Albert...compares well with the first one...for the triangular in the top left I agree with Ram...

This is very nice Albert. Really great color and depth. I sort of wish that the top left was not quite so empty - but I would be very proud to have this shot in my portfolio. Great work!

Lovely colors and soft light Albert, great stuff.
I prefer Crocus #1 because the comp seems to flow better.
Beautiful variation here :wavey:

Another beauty, Albert! Can't really say which I like better; they are both special. I like the larger view on this one and the closer view of the other one. I like the way the background in this slowly blurs into a mass of crocus contrasting with the front flowers being in good focus.

Tough choice, Albert. This version give more sense of a large clump but a reduced view of the one sharp bloom while the earlier gives a better looks at one bloom. Overall, I like the first post slightly better because of the strong peek-a-boo look at the stamen and pistil. I do think that this version provides more of the "spring glow" feeling.

Albert: Number 1 is my clear favorite. This would work much better for me with the frame filled more with the flowers. I can see a slight camera rotation to the right and a tighter crop. It looks like there is more to work with on the right side and going right eliminates some of the empty corner and the lone OOF yellow center along the left edge of the frame. Still makes me crazy jealous. >=))>

I like this even better than no 1, Albert. A lovely array of shape and colour, fading to the background whites perfectly. Very beautiful !!

Another excellent shot, Albert- Agree with Ram about his compositional ideas, but surely your image has a great chromatic appeal and a fantastic quality of light- A great Crocus series, Fabio
