City Lights
by Max Waugh
I was in Hong Kong last week, and went up to The Peak to get photos of the skyline from above the city. It was packed, so there was no place to move around and even contemplate shooting from different angles. So I took time to experiment with long exposures instead.
In this case, the only major PS work (aside from slight contrast/color work) was cutting the original photo in half and flipping the left half of it to create the mirror image, since I preferred the symmetry. The blur was achieved during the long exposure, zooming the lens while the shutter was open.
Canon 1D Mark IV
Canon 17-40mm
ISO 400
3"
f/10
-1 exp. comp.
(On tripod, which was leaning against a railing in order to make sure the railing didn't get in the shot.)
Cut in half and flipped in PhotoShop.
