White-throated Sparrow

I photographed this White-throated Sparrow in my back yard. I added a texture layer in Photoshop and blended it with the original image to hide a very distracting background and to give it a more "artistic" look.

I like it David, very artistic indeed. Good job on the blend.

This has a lot of atmosphere! It's a lovely portrait of this species, very different from what we're used to seeing, and feels quite intimate... almost like the bird posed to have his portrait taken -- but it's different in a *good* way, imho. This works, whereas many bird photo art shots just don't do it for me. Blend is lovely.

Very artistic, great colors for this type of image, and wonderful sharpness of the bird's head and eye.

The texture really makes this image. Well done.

Your processing works very well. You've created a very painterly image that lets the bird stand out while conveying well a sense of the underbrush world where these folks hang out.
