Coorong Sunrise

Just back from a trip along part of the southern coast of Australia. This is the first image of many I took to jump out at me!
The Coorong is a long narrow body of water separated from the Southern Ocean by a narrow peninsula of sand dunes. This is taken looking south east at a point where the water is less than an inch deep, just before it runs out entirely, giving way to salt and mud flats.
All comments, criticism welcome.

Posting this one too, to see which is preferred by people. Very similar frame, around 5 minutes earlier, same settings except 1.3 seconds instead of 1/6th.

The original seems a bit over-sharpened with light lines above the tree line and slightly grainy appearance.
ISO on D300 will cause grain sometimes in darker photos.
If/when you can afford a D700 it will outshine the D300 in low light abilities. But it requires FX lenses for full frame.
This photo has good lines and color.
Texture of upper clouds reflecting in water is nice. I wonder if a slight brightening of the water might not bring out more reflection?
Good work.

Intensely wonderful light. Really like the texture in the clouds. I like both images. Maybe sort of wish for more detail in the water in each.

I like both but prefer the first. The texture of the clouds is quite nice and the color, of course, is wonderful. I'm not entirely sold on the composition...it's not a major issue, but I'd personally have preferred something with either more of an anchor in the foreground or a pure reflectionscape.

Warmer version is best IMO. Nice shot.
