Yep, another shot of three sisters, probably the last one for a long time, I promise...I shot this the same evening Doug shot his and as he was framing up his comp, I scouted around for a nice foreground to shoot myself. I came upon this brittlebush that was quite full, though not as full as it will be after the rains. I saw that the upper parts of the ridge had some nice patches of brittlebush that intertwined with the cactus and rocks. Then came the light. I double processed the raw file to bring out the detail in the mountains and rid of the deep shadows I have normally seen here. I really didn't do too much processing, just curves and contrast adjustments and some sharpening. However I did remove some branches via clone tool on the upper left ridge, I left some of them there to keep the scene somewhat balanced and to keep it looking as natural as possible. Please click for the larger version (It is the same size just better quality, I have been having issues trying to keep the images at the maximum sizes)

Very nice, great foreground and I love the light on the peaks in the background.

Peter, it's a nice shot. If it were mine I might try to clean up the foreground some more. There seems to be some out of focus flowers near the bottom of the image that detract for me. A scroll crop up to the first flower on the left that is being cut off seems to help. Also might try cropping a little off the left hand side of the image to remove those branches altogether. Just some suggestions to play around with. :wavey:

I like this a lot. Very nice light on the rocks and the flowers/overall good condition of the surrounding area is really nice!

Thanks everyone.

Zack, there were moderate breezes up here so trying to get a shot with everything crisp was a bit of a challenge. That's why some look oof.

Nice use of foreground, mid-ground and background in a cohesive way leading to a dominant background feature. Lighting is nice. The only thing better would be awesome light, but as we all know that is rare. Nevertheless this is really nice!

Thanks Mark. I am still waiting for some amazing clouds to show up. Still haven't had the sky I'm looking for. Hopefully that will change soon, or I'll just wait until the monsoons roll in.

Hi Peter, This is a very pretty scene, and I really enjoy the light and wonderful color. I might crop the bottom just a little to eliminate the oof flowers in the lrc, but other than that for me it looks great! I have enjoyed seeing your images from this place. Nice work.

Well done, Peter. I like the even lighting and colors. You have a strong FG and middle ground
with just right amount of sky.

I like the comp, Peter, and the light you brought to this both in the foreground and the overall balance. It's a really fine image.

Thanks for the feedback. Nick, I did do a cropped version, but what I like about this with the oof flowers is the sense of motion. If you look at the top of the foreground plant you can see a few other flowers slightly out of focus due to the breeze. Thank you for the comments Robert and Tony.
