Breaking the rules

This is a yellow crocus flower setting in some kind of green fungus. I tried different comps with the flower in the lower third of the photo but just wasn't feeling it. It just felt right being in the center. So that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I love all the rich green texture surrounding the bloom . My nit is that one little piece of grass on the left hand side it keeps pulling my attention, it is just a minor thing but maybe it could be cloned out. Lovely work Todd. :toast:

I don't mind the center or the little sprig of grass. It's not as if the flower was going to fly off the page. The yellow crocus is nice, but that looks like the fungus that ate Chicago!

WOW, is this different. I agree with that one little bit of grass, or whatever it is. Intense!

Good time and reason to break the rule, Todd. The yellow crocus should take center stage here and does a fine job. The surroundings add a lot of interest and contrasting colors. I stand by you sticking to it!

Wonderful yellow-green combination. To keep it yellow-green only I'd clone the blue spot in bottom-right corner.
