Taken in Berkeley, California, looking west towards the Golden Gate Bridge.

Would like feedback regarding composition, light, and color. Too dark?

Kathy,

Very nice image of the bay and GG Bridge. Where was this taken from? Berkeley Marina perhaps. Just curious.

I like the color very much. What makes the composition work for me is the ferry boat cruising along the bottom. For me, the Marin headlands are quite heavy in the frame and create quite a bit of dark, negative space. But I'm at a loss as to what to suggest to improve that. Still, there's a lot going for this including the line of light at the top of the frame that helps frame thing just like the wake of the boat. Overall I like it.

Now comes the part where I get to tell you that I'll be moving this to the Man & Nature gallery after posting my comment. Hope that makes sense and if you have any questions don't hesitate to contact myself or one of the other moderators. Thanks for posting.

The comp works for me. As lon said, the ferry boat makes thisi nteresting. The hill takes a major part in the comp and is a bit dark in my opinion. i would like to see a bit more details. The image looks a bit soft though.
