I like the BG, helps make the woodpecker really stand out. Nice sharpness and color. Thanks for sharing.

VEry nice, Chuck. Good work against a brighter background. If it were mine, and I had the pixels, I'd try to crop a bit tighter, less tree and more bird, as it were.

I have one visiting my backyard here in Texas and I haven't yet captured the pose I'm looking for. Your pose and composition is excellent. I like the death grip he seems to have on the birch. :wavey:

Nice pose and comp. I have been trying to get one of these guys but nothing this good yet. Got the female but not the male. Its probably just my monitor but to me it looks a little low on contrast and maybe needs to be warmed up just a bit.

Cute little fellow! Nice exposure in tough conditions, fine detail, nice pose (I also like the "death grip")
Just at the edge of starting to be soft, so I suspect this is as large a crop as you can get away with.
Really nice image!

Really like this, Chuck. Nice exposure on the bird, with the light background and shady area, this could have been difficult. Excellent light in the eye. Looks like he's hanging on for dear life.
