Red-necked Grebe (Podiceps grisegena) in breeding plumage photographed at a local lake in Edmonton, AB, during the evening light.

This is another one from the archives (May 2011) that I am reprocessing. I'm trying to learn more about PS (layers, masks, etc.) and about the round-trip with LR3.

Canon 7D, Sigma 150-500 at 370 mm, ISO 320, 1/60 sec at f/11, HH (seated on ground and elbows braced on knees), landscape to portrait crop minus small sliver at the top to remove "rogue wave", PP in LR3 and CS5.

All C & Cs are much appreciated. Thanks for viewing. Roger.

Great shot Roger. Nice detail in the water droplets and feathers, The color is outstanding. Nice job processing too.

Nice portrait, I like the light and the colors are very nice. Looks like a little camera shake, could have used a higher shutter speed.

Lovely light and portrait. Holding the "Bigma" at 1/60, even braced as you were, is a chore. It looks a little soft to me, and I suspect movement is the reason.

Neat portrait Roger, I'd probably bump the iso up to 500 or so to get a little much shutter speed when shooting handheld in this situation with a low shutter speed. :toast:

Roger,
I LOVE the title. It's what got me to open this file. Perfectly titled. Neat image though I suspect a little bit of camera shake caused the slight blur. Still a great capture with wonderful light. TFS
