Old Ranch House

I had seen this old ranch house a couple of times and thought it would make a good subject. Out early this morning hoping the sun would like up the house and the butte behind it, but the sun has moved a little to far north to light up the face of the butte, but it put a nice light on the house and tree. I will have to try again next December when the sun is as far south as it will go to see if I can get the butte lighted up also. Thanks for all of you comments and critiques.

This looks great Richard, the light from the early morning sun is gorgeous. The ranch makes a great subject too.

Sweet warm light. Nice subjects. Works for me. I think it works fine as is without the butte in light.

I'm sure this will look better than with the butte in light - you get much more separation now. Nice warm glow. This your holiday home?

I think the light worked well in this case Richard. I would have perhaps liked to see it with a little more space on the RHS, LHS and top...

I liked the pano version Richard, but this one is outstanding! The subtle, muted colors and side lighting are perfect here. Very well done.

Great light and composition! Looks like it could use a slight CW rotation. I'm also thinking that this has a slight magenta cast to it. You can counteract that by adding a little green. This might make the sunlight appear a little warmer which I think would add to the scene.

I'll have to disagree with the other mod in this case :) I think it's perfect as presented. Wonderful light in a great setting.

N-I-C-E !
The winter landscape and skeletal trees compliments the old ranch house. Looks very old and lonely.

Richard: Great find and I really like how the light isolates the building and tree. Having it all lit would be interesting but I like this very much as is. Congrats on the WP. >=))>

A lovely image as presented. I like the light as is and don't see a need for it to light the butte as well. This has a timeless quality as posted.
