Here I was playing with lines with some roses my wife got for valentines day....Come to think about it I wonder who sent them to her?

Canon 7D, Canon 100mm macro,.6sec, f/25, ISO 100, placed in front of a window for lighting.

Thanks for looking and all C&C welcomed.

Beautiful combination of light, lines, and texture! Only thing I might change would be a slight crop from the right to the edge of the first curling petal. I find the upper-right corner is the only thing that detracts from this.

John:
Classic curls of the rose. Nice capture. Agree with Derek about a crop to take care of the LUC.

I think your wife bought the rose for you to photograph on V day.

This is spectacular! I love the swirling petals and the depth created by the gradual focus fall of and lighting fall off.

This one really caught my eye in the thumbnail and didn't disappoint in the larger view. Love the lighting, texture, and the swirling pattern. Well done.

John, One of my favourite approaches to shooting Roses  - its awesome as posted but if you can do something to the right corner (crop, clone), and left corner (lighten the slightly dark patch), this would really begin to sizzle :toast:

Talk about the perfect whorl! Captured so well as to make it look delicate and lovely.

P.S. Just noticed a nitty little thing... In the upper right, there is a bit of intrusion of a petal going the "wrong" way. Think the imaget would be better without it.
