The outer covering of a bud has peeled back to allow the new growth to emerge and reach for the sun. The leaves almost look like praying hands to me. This was shot last spring down along my creek. Not sure what the plant is though; just one of the many weedy plants/bushes/trees that grow along the creek banks.

Canon Rebel T1i. 220mm at F/10 for 1/20 sec. ISO 100. No flash, tripod mounted.

Beautiful colors and a great bg, although you could burn down the brightest spot in the upper left a bit. the leaves do look like hands, a prayer of joy from the feel of this image. You always manage to infuse your images with an emotional charge. It's an art I greatly admire. Nicely done

Nice job. It's funny, I saw the praying hands here before I read your description. I like the composition and colors here, they stand out nice against the soft BG.

Great find. Yes it does look like praying hands. The swept back yellow coverings add a very nice shape contrast in a coordinated color.
