Hippeastrum

Almost 40 days ago we planted this Hippeastrum bulb. Now it has two 60cm tall buds, with three flowers each. We hope we'll have the opportunity of taking (and sharing) a small series on this.
This is the first.

Thanks for looking. Comments and suggestion appreciated.

I am looking forward to the series showing off this impressive flower. In this view, I'd suggest more DOF and /or changing the point of focus so that the tip of the center flower, which I think is the center of interest, is in focus. :wavey:

Beautiful setting. I like the color change from green to red as you go front to back through the image. I especially like that the central focus is a mixture of the two colors and how you show it nestled between the purer colored parts.

Like this one very much, D&L- Great palette of complimentary colours, and a fine composition choice- I hope your flowers will be fine with the artic climate we have now in Italy- My garden needs the undertaker :frown: - Thanks for sharing, Fabio

Perfect perspective here. I agree about better DOF on the center top of the bulb.
Lovely colors and lines too.

Thank you for the comments.
We agree that maybe the focus on the top of the central flower would work better.
Yes, the weather is really artic here too, but these flowers grew in house, so they should survive.

I love this kind of image, D & L. Beautiful soft textures give a full sense of the bud - you can almost feel it growing - and the colours are a treat.

D&L: In addition to the already made suggestions regarding the POF I would also crop this in some from the opposing corners to completely fill the frame with the bud. Looking forward to the series. BTW, even if you are shooting indoors play around with a polarizer some to tame some of the reflections. >=))>

This is lovely - lovely use of the foliage for framing and reds providing the much needed contrast. I too echo previous suggestion to fill the frame with the subject and remove the background :wavey:

These are majestic flowers and very impressive. I enjoyed working with these recently so I look forward to seeing your series. Nothing to add to the suggestion made by Scott, Bill and Ram.
