I love the layers here, but the image gets more powerful for me if you crop off the top part of the frame so the trees are closer to the border. I would crop all the way down to where the ridge in the back in no longer visible and you just have that nearly solid color background behind the trees.
The snow textures and colors are all perfect for me. Great great shot.

Well done, I love it. In my opinion your one of the best winter scene photographers on NPN that I've seen so far. Keep up the great work.

Gorgeous blue and white Adam. Those back lit frosty trees are just absolutely beautiful. To complete the scene I might crop the lighter mountain near the top but that is just my perspective.

So simple and beautiful. While there are many cropping options with this one, I'm enjoying this as is. There seems to be a smudge of some sort in the LLC, maybe windblown snow not sure. Any way, I might consider cleaning that up as it breaks the clean snow lines in that area of the image.

I love the layering with the nice cool blue shadows. I love winter scenes possibly more so because we don't get them here in Phoenix. This shot definitely makes me want to head north.

Very cool. Great light and textures. I scrolled down to crop out of curiosity and the bottom 1/2 could be a pretty sick square comp. nice work

Great work Adam. I like it for the graphical quality. Those lines and shapes created by the light and shadows are just fantastic.

Wow that's darn nice. Great work Adam. The square crop that Aaron suggested is also a good idea for another image.

Adam, I do appreciate your play with the gentle curves and the spikes of the snow covered trees. Colors reflect the wintry and icy atmosphere well to me.

superb. not much more to add except that if you consider cropping (and there's no real reason to do so), then the square would be the way to go.

Wow Adam! This is fantastic. Beautiful use of light and shadow with a perfect comp! I love winter scenes and this is one of the very best to me. I too like the square crop that Aaron mentioned as a whole different image. Excellent work...I love it!

I love the simplicity of this image. A good example of the KISS principle. The only suggestion I might make is to crop it a 4:5 aspect leaving out most of the large snow highlight in the foreground but keeping all of the top dark area.

Beautiful scene! At first my reaction was to crop a bit off the top, but after reading some of the other comments, I now feel that keeping the top as is, but cropping some off the bottom helps place more emphasis on the trees, and give the image an even greater sense of depth. Also, I must admit that I am a big fan of the 4:5 aspect ratio for vertical photos. I find that 2:3 sometimes has a tendency to "stretch" a vertical composition.

Excellently composed, Adam. You came across a beautiful scenic.
I like the layers divided diagonally. The tree groupings are a necessity
for taking this over the top.

Wonderful composition and detail in the snow. I also think this would work with the top cropped off but it's fine as posted to.

I am really liking the play of light and shadow upon the snow covered slopes. So many comps are held within this comp. Excellent. The only nit I see is the small cloud of snow highlighted against the shadow in the LLC .
