Winter on the barrier beach Fire Island. The distant, summer voices are replaced by cold, cutting winds and the iced in docks beckon warm memories.

Jim, I like this a lot. I love the textures of the clapboards and plywood and the view of the pilings through the walkway...looks like a working mans beach town

really neat effects of light and shadow through the slats, windows, breezeway, etc. I like it with a bit less sky, Jim, only because I find the passageway from fg to bg quicker and it makes more of an impact on me. The chains and padlocks and touches of ice sure do give the scene an "off-season" look. Nice work.

Love the light and shadow and the passage leading the eye into the distance. Sure seems to need a bit of a CCW rotation though. Nice textures, too. I might tone down the brightest part a tad. Interesting image and great B&W treatment!
