A silent moment today at dusk. I took the shot at the shore of the frozen Lake Neusiedl in the Pannonian Steppes in the eastern part of Austria.

The reeds are a good subject and their color contrasts nicely with the blue-gray of the water and sky. That said, I might prefer a horizontal composition featuring the top part of the scene. The foreground just doesn't intrigue me nearly as much as the reeds and distant horizon/sky.

Peter, The colors here are wonderful and those grasses look so good against that blue. The light is very nice and you ended up with a wonderful feel. I like this fine as it is but could also see it as a horizontal... as Phil mentioned. Nice work Peter.

Peter, I like the color contrast but think a horizontal comp would work better. The fg doesn't do much for me

Looks like a lovely evening. I'd sure enjoy sitting there watching and listening to the change from day to night. Very peaceful!

I love photographs of this type. They place me directly in the scene and show a slice of our natural world at its best. Really well done, Peter.
