I know...I ripped off the name. But I could not think of anything else. It was both fortunate and unfortunate to have the opportunity to make this photo. Great to have the easy access with a nearly snow-less winter up to that point, but real unfortunate due to the lack of snow and that we will feel this later in the year when we need the water. Strange year.

I recounted the trip to make this photo on the Organic Light Pan blog at this LINK

I am also posting the B&W version I worked up as well below.

This was a 36 frame panoramic stitch using a D2x and my Nikon 80-200mm f/4 lens. It makes for one big panoramic. I also photographed it on 4x5 with two sheets with he camera back shifted right and left. When I get those done I post those also, now those make a REAL BIG pano.

With 36 frames to work with I'm sure this can be printed LARGE. Both versions are nice, but I prefer the b&w.

I am definitely preferring the B&W. It seems to handle the harsher light much better in that version. And the moon stands out better, too. Moon Light Photography. I am telling you, Youssef.............

Harley,

I never thought of Moon Light Photography. The moon is in a small percentage of my total portfolio, it just happens that I share those most often. But thanks for the feedback.

I too prefer the B/W. The shadow at the bottom is a bit of a distraction in the color version, IMHO. 36 images, Wow, that must have took you some time to put together

Beautiful pano, Youssef. Gorgeous color and light. The two 4x5 pano ought to look awesome.

Youssef,

Terrific pano from GP. I think the curved shadow actually gives this one a somewhat unique presentation. Always a great time up there and you've captured a wonderful moment as well.

What a breathtaking view and I really love how you have portrayed it here. While both the color and b&w versions work well, my personal preference is for the color one. The moon adds so much to this image.

Sweet pano - the NPN limitations don't allow panos to be shown in their full glory...

this is a keeper!
