I wasn't very impressed with the thumbnail, but the full size image looks quite nice. I the the blue sky/green leaves combo and the shape of the tree is lovely. One nit (keep in mine I'm on an uncalibrated work monitor) is the the color balance looks a bit off to me, making slightly greenish bark on the tree.

I might be misunderstanding you...does the bark look greener than usual? The tree is called "Palo Verde" for a reason! The bark IS green :)
But perhaps there is too much of a green overcast to the overall photo?

Nice. Tight frame, nice clouds as a back drop. Fallen-down tree in LRC feels a bit out of place, but can't think how to deal with that. It is what it is.

Eirini,

I love the greens of the Palo Verde! The wonderful light and great sky all combine for a real winner. I really like your composition here filling the frame. I really like that you've allowed the tree branches to breach the edge of the frame - at least some part of the tree touches all four edges and there isn't just one lone branch. Hope that makes sense - my saying is that if you're going to cut something off, do it on purpose. And so I like the comp in part because it has purpose.

Oh, for Bill and anyone else, the color is true. My parents had one of these in their front yard in Tucson. The warm light combined with the greenish trunk and this looks pretty darn accurate to me.

Well done.

Awesome Eirini. I'm really surprised there aren't more photos of Palo Verde as subjects here. We get a lot of great cacti, but I find these trees to be very photogenic in their own right.
