Impression from Les Pres d'Orvin just a few miles above Bienne/Switzerland. I was scouting the area looking for new material when I saw this scene.

Techs: Nikon D700, 16-35 lens (@32mm), ISO 200, 1/50sec, f11, polarizer

Thanks for any comments and thoughts

Intriguing composition. I like the fog bank but, being so clearly delineated, it kinda cuts the image in half. I'm still deciding how I feel about that. I love what it does for the bg trees and the colors are lovely. Nicely done

Wow, the thumbnail did not ever remotely do this justice! The lighting is really interesting in front of the low fog & the bright red leaves are incredible. I love it!

Great scene Bill. The low hanging fog is intriguing the way it just covers the BG trees. Great comp.

Really like this one, Bill. The diagonals, the repeating shapes, the fog, the light. All really nice. Good eye on this one.

Bill, very nice shot... well executed....
different question:
I'm looking for a replacement Wide Angle ( or short zoom) for my D300s soon to be D800 (I hope  )
Do you like that lens? And would you recommend it?
Thanks a lot
Nice work... :toast:

Really well done, Bill. Works for me. Love the warm and cool tones, fog and sense of mystery.

Bill,

Just love the simplicity here - and the complex! Great depth created with the fog/mist and the bg trees. The light and color is wonderful and the seemingly over simplistic composition works beautifully. love this. no nits.

The color and light is superb here Bill. The soft box lighting effect from the mist has created a beautiful atmospheric glow. I like the lean of the tree and your comp.

Excellent, Bill. The combination of harsh warm light with the foggy background works very well.

Great find Bill! The fog and disappearing trees in the background gives an otherwise flat scene some depth. Nice capture!

Nice! Love the fog and lighting here, real cool. Feels a tiny bit cramped/tight overall to me, but that's a minor nit. :toast:

Very well done, Bill. The fog and light are wonderful, and I like the natural looking color. Interesting comp that also works well for me. Nice work!
