Sundown Crossing

A wintery night time crossing of the Bainbridge Island ferry across Puget Sound into Elliott Bay and Seattle. The sunset was a big bonus because of low clouds and an incoming storm front. The image was made after sunset, when all looked dark.

Thanks for looking.

Catherine, I really like how the ferry stands out and the hint of light from the bright sky on the water. Can you explain what technique you used to make this a Photo Art image?

Really good composition and great light, Catherine.

My eyes must be going cause I sure can't see why this is photo art ???

Sorry about that.

Regards,

Carol

Thanks for the comments. As to how and why this is photo art:

Very dark at the time, well after sundown, and missed focus by just a hair. So I added noise and contrast to compensate. The noise can be seen as coarse grain at full size. I added it with an unsharp mask layer. Thanks for asking.
