or . . Blushing Blooms

Sony A700
Minolta 100mm macro
ISO 200, .6 secs @ f16, +1.7EC

Another bathroom studio shot of my favorite orchid stem. I especially liked the subtle pinks on the back of the petals, thus the secondary title. All comments welcome.

Graceful lines and flow to the image. Find myself wanting to see it reversed with their faces to the front. :wavey:

The graceful curve of the stem is what first catches one's eye. The closer look reviews the subtle but beautiful colors and shape of these flowers attached to the stem. The flower coloring also works/blends so well with the BG. I like flower back views; in this case it helps to highlight the graceful stem and the orderly way the flowers attach to the stem. Just wonderful, Bill!

I agree with other comments. The whites are very delicate and the plant is artistically presented. But I also find myself wishing to see the front of the flowers.

If your main objective was to show the 'blushing' part you got it right. Delicate and graceful. But I still feel like saying: don't be shy, you are beautiful. :toast:

Lovely, airy feel to this, Bill - the bluish whites set off the pinks perfectly. I like the fact that there is just one full profile flower around which all the others seem to float in gay abandon. Beautiful !!

Bill:
Looking at the soft lighting here, you must have quite a set up in your bathroom. I really like the delicate look of the petals and the almost streaking pastel in bg (is this from the motifs on the tiles?). Guess this back view is just a teaser for the next post  .

Some super lighting there, Bill for this drooping and gracious curve holding the Orchids. Just lovely anyway I look at it. Cannot wait to see the version showing the "face" of these beautiful flowers :jump:

I agree, the subtle pinks make these softly "blushing blooms" simply beautiful.
This is very nice Bill, so delicate and soft. Masterfully done! :wavey:

Nice job on this Bill. I like the white bg. Just a quick question. How come these flowers seem so difficult to shoot. It seems I can never get a decent comp.
