Happy New Year everyone!! This has been a hectic start of a year, and I apologize for my lack of participation. I found this in my files from last summer.
D70s, 28-80mm @ 80, ISO200, F8 @ 1/125 sec
I appreciate all critique and comments.
Bob

I'd like everyone to look at my new website and let me know what you think also. Thanks

Hi Bob. I like the bold, bright red from the backlighting. I'd have preferred having all the anthers sharp, but it's striking as is. Regarding your website, do you have a link or site address?

Beautiful backlighting. The layering of the petals adds depth and interest. Nice job

Good, strong colours. Some sharpness to all the anthers would have made this shot a lot stronger. Beautiful composition. :toast:

Vibrant Reds, Robert  - love the textures too. Sharpness in the Anthers might have suffered due to web compression I guess. Lovely all round :wavey:

PS: I like the layout of your website. Easy to navigate and some great frames there.

Robert: I like the color here especially. For me the anthers are critical elements in amaryllis and day lilies and should be critically sharp. Hard for me to tell if this is a capture or processing issue but I did notice it first off. 2 thumbs up on your site. >=))>

Wow, great color. It's probably just a personal preference of mine, but to me, the composition would be better weighted to the right. Maybe on a third instead of starting in the middle with the anthers pointing out of the frame. :wavey:

Fine perspective, Bob, and excellent work on the reds. Like Scott, I would have liked to see all the anthers sharp but that's a small nit. Very impressive website - great range of stuff ( though I did jump at first when the music came in !! smile !!!! )

The reds are great and the you've used the long curve of the stamen and pistil beautifully. I'll agree with the others that a bit more sharpness in the stamen would be nice, but understand that it's hard to get because of the size of these flowers.

I as well have had issues with compression and loss of sharpness when loading images from time to time. This is lovely and well composed but the lack of sharpness does detract. Your new web site is beautiful.Cheers :wavey:
