Taken during our Christmas Vacation in Oahu, this is a two exposure blend, postprocessed using TK's Luminosity Masks and a bit of Nik Color Efx Pro filtering.

PLEASE VIEW LARGE! Thx!

Canon 5DII, 16-35, ISO 100. f/16, 1/4-1/6 sec. CP. C&C always appreciated

Very nice. The high vantage point is key to the composition in my opinion. Excellent work!

That golden glow really comes through in the large version and the detail in the fg rocks is exceptional. The beauty of this had me holding my breath. I like that in an image.

Gorgeous scene Doug, the detail is just inspiring. Great job on your processing. I think the shutter speed of the water makes it for me. Excellent work!

Fantastic image, Doug. Love your composition and the beautiful light and color. This almost looks like a waterfall coming inland from the ocean, which I guess for this brief moment in time, it was. Extraordinary.

Large is the way to go with this one. Comp and light are pretty as is the subject.

CP for the ground exposure only? The sky looks so even, at 16MM it can be hard to use the CP.

Thanks all!
Richard - thank you. I actually used the CP on both exposures. I agree with you about the CP and ultra-wides, though. I don't usually use them with alot of sky, but I wanted the reduced sheen effect on the rocks, and a bit more slow shutter flexibility. Plus, I figured I could get away with it given the small amount of blue combined with the fine tuning available to me using Tony's luminosity masks in pp.

Nice shutter speed to convey motion here and perfect timing with that cloud following the same line. Nice! Bet those folks back in Billings will love this one especially (or hate you for going there)

Good stuff Doug, nice work making the sky look so even. I really must learn this luminosity masking. Thanks for the explanation.
