Since I have little hope of seeing snow this year, I'm re-working some Yellowstone images from 07 and 08 and dreaming...

Sandy this is a fantastic image! I hear you on the snow, so far winter has yet to show up here in Alberta as well!

I really like the comp on this one Sandy with the snow on the back of the Bison and the raised head. My only nit is the obvious blown whites of the surrounding snow. However, with that being said, I know this is not an easy one to expose and get details on the bison as well.

Saw tour response Sandy...sorry, didn't know for sure since you didn't state that in your post.

High key-ish on purpose, Kurt! Should have said that! The original snow was very uninteresting and bland, so played around a bit with it . Have been doing several high-key things to get the feel of snow which is sadly lacking here this year.

I especially like the touch of the frost encrusted weed in front of the body!

Sandy: love it. Absolutely gorgeous. Fantastic detail, great comp and very interesting overall graphic appeal. The frost-covered vegetation is a plus imo. I also think the high key makes this an even stronger image...really strong image. You and Max are killing me with these Yellowstone gems!

This is beautiful Sandy!!! Love the high key processing, I think the silhouetted vegatation in front of the bison's body makes this image, but the bit of color added by tongue puts it over the top. Very NIce

Nice job of processing a rather uninteresting lighting situation into an interesting image.

Nice work Sandy! I think the high key works really well here considering the light and subject.

Nice image Sandy. I like the very white BG and snow. I like it. Have you played around with black and white for this image.

Sandy, Brrr! Nice to have images in your stock to pull from. I like the white BG, the composition and that tongue poking out from the Bison's mouth. One wonders what they find to eat during this time of year. Excellent image!

What a character! I dig the high-key processing and that icy stare. I wonder how a tighter crop would fare?
