Egret Paradise

Gallery: Photo ArtPosted December 14, 2011320 views9 comments
This is from one of my favorite places, Harris Neck National Wildlife Refuge just off of I-95 in Georgia. I've looked at this image off and on for the last several months, and in the end I decided to make it a Photo Art image, because to me that makes the most of the beauty of this place and time. I've had the title I gave it in mind the whole time.

Comments and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

This turned out very nice, a very beautiful image. What processing did you use? It looks like a painting which, I assume, is the look you were going for. My only negative is the black line around the egrets, particularly the the one on the right, otherwise you certainly did capture the beauty of the refuge.

Lovely image, Barbara. What did you use for processing? All objects look a little sharpened but perhaps that's what you had in mind.

Best wishes

Carol

Thanks, Allen and Carol. This was Topaz Simplify Oil Painting, I think, and with CS5 Poster Edges. I think I kind of do like this one sharp.

Beautiful work, Barbara. Love your composition with the nice S curve of the shoreline and the great lines of the cattails. The egrets seem to glow against all that green. Well done.

Barbara, I think this would be fine also as a straight shot or unless the art treatment was needed because the front egret is blown out. It's definitely fine as photo art, especially in the larger version. I really like the egrets "nestled" in all the green.

Beautiful image--I love the artistic effect! It seems to me too to be leaning to the left a bit.

To be used as a piece of wall art work, this is beautiful. I'm in favor of the black line, since it defines objects more clearly. Usually in digital art, you like it or you don't like it. This one I really like. I would really like to see it as a large canvas print. :toast: Now I do agree with the leaning to the left comment.
