This is a rectangular to polar conversion pieced together from a night shot of the Yarra River waterfront in Melbourne, Australia. The result feels like some kind of medallion, hence the title.

Very, very nice, Mark. This has a lot more work into it than simple rectangular to polar conversion.
Well done.

masterfully pieced together, Mark. It has a 3 dimensional feel to it, especially in the center. I will admit to being unsure if I like the inclusion of the buildings. An Aussie might feel different though :).

This is my question for you, Mark: When are you going to start doing webinars on how to do this? I think that would be awesome. You could do it through something like GoToMeeting. I'd pay to participate. Beautiful work.

Carol, the key is the verb, pieced together. There's a fair amount of construction before the rectangular to polar conversion.
Barbara, I can probably explain via email....for the time being, I'm not trying to make money with my photography and I do enjoy sharing what little knowledge I have.

Mark this is amazing! On Metallic paper this would be stunning! The copper gold and silver reflections mesmerize me. Being a "Yarra" myself and having familial origins from Australia makes it even more fascinating! Never have been to Australia...but would love to go. I just started dabbling with doing kaleidoscope images. I would love to know how you do this polar conversion! Blessings, Deb
