Windy afternoon at the Swedish westcoast. Big waves slamming the cliffs. Tried to capture the power of the waves. Lots of water returning to the sea and a new one coming in.

D300s, 70-200 @ 92mm, 1/6s and f/11. Also had a polarizer on.

Inputs as always highly appreciated

Great shot Christer! I see another great shot within your shot if you wanted another option... my preference would be more of a square crop of the left side which would simplify the image further and concentrate even more on the great textures and diagonal lines you have going on there. Obviously this shot is great as is, this is just my personal taste and another option for you. Great work!

The large version works particularly well. You can clearly see the movement of the water. The mix of patterns are great. Nice work.

Christer,

Wow, this is really outstanding. I love the texture and motion of the water and I also think the "steps" created by the rocks adds a wonderful compositional element. I also like the hint of rust reds that grounds the color in this scene; of course this may be a great candidate for b&w too, but this color version is impressive.

This does capture the feel of surging water quite well. I really like the muted color.

not sure it captures the power of the waves but it certainly captures the rushing motion of water! there's tension and anticipation with the curves in the top left corner. nicely timed!

As already mentioned, the texture and movement in the water is excellent, especially in the larger upload.

What a beautiful sense of motion here, Christer. I particularly like the left half, and would actually suggest considering a (roughly 4:5 aspect ratio horizontal) crop that focuses on the rock on the left and the swirls above it. I think that would make for a more abstract composition, which I enjoy.
