"Seed Bearer"

Another in my recent work with small songbirds in-flight.
This is from yesterday, we've had some clear weather the last few days. I got low enough to grab some sky & shoot at a higher shutter speed. I liked the OOF tree left, a change from just blue sky. Besides, it gives the bird a place to go & roost:wink:
F/8, 1/4000th, ISO 640, 1D M3, 300mm f/2.8 + 1.4x, clear & sunny around noon.
Mult-point AF with Al Servo & tripod on this one. I also sometimes simply manual focus to the bird, and give it some lead space/time.

The seed adds to this sharp flight shot. I would prefer to see all sky and not that green on the left.

I know you are having a great time with the flight photography. I like the very sharp eye and light you have captured. The details in the dangling feet are a plus.

May be a tiny bit more canvas left but no big deal. Great grab anyway.

Very nice flight shot. That has to be tough at that distance. I like the OOF tree for the same reasons you mentioned. The seed and the feet make this even more interesting.

No kidding I knew this was yours before I saw the name Howard. It's so cool. Great light nice detail. Have you tried to lift the shadows of the tail end at all?

Hi Cheryl & thank for stopping by.
I shot this around noon in bright sunlight without flash, so the light's what it is..
It gives me the s-speed, but sometimes I loose the shadows a bit as seen here.
I did bring it up a bit, but there's only so far you can go when the details R lost in shadow as you know.
Overall I don't think it hurts it too much.
Thanx again and Best Wishes for a Merry Christmas! :wavey:
