Waiting for light

This beautiful butterfly's day would never begin without the break of warm morning light. Though its life is short, it feels as if it never stops HOPING for the light to break after bearing a 'bone chilling', unforgiving, harsh winter night.

Thanks in advance for your views and thoughts.

Pramod, I like the B&W treatment & the soft lighting you captured here. Nice details of the dew on the butterfly's wings also. I find myelf wishing that the sun wasn't cropped though. Did you get other comps with this subject?

I like the comments you gave in the intro for your photo. . .very poetic. Nice photo to go along with your comments. I like the B&W treatment for this and your comp. I think possibly a crop down from the top (to just below the little stem on top left of the sun) might be something to try.

Very artistic and beautiful. I've seen a couple images now with the sun in the BG like in your image, and I'm not sure how it's accomplished. Very nice work.

Thanks all.

@Tonia I did get different composition - this is one composition that I personally liked the most. Will post the other ones sometime soon.

Love this image--it's really unique! Great silhouette, I love the water droplets on the wings...
Beautifully captured,

I like the uniqueness of this comp. B&W butterfly images are rare. the light works well as do the drops of dew

Awesome shot! This is very unique. The silhouetted butterfly - with it's tiny droplets across the top of the wing - and the background that seems to echo calligraphy... I love it. It's subtle and beautiful. Just gorgeous!
