The Platte has never looked so good! The new snow and the reflection are really nice. You can hardly tell this was an HDR exposure. I find myself wanting to see either an image with a wider view including more of the branches in the foreground or a tighter shot without the branches at all just focusing on the reflection and the opposite shore. Still, this is a nice compromise between those two approaches.

Lots to like here, Cindy. Some of the branches appear OOF is my only nit, the "HDR" processing looks good.

A scene like this really has no need for specific processing to deal with high contrast. During daylight, your camera is capable of capturing all the necessary tones. When HDR is used, you end up with all sorts of strange artifacts --- especially the halos along the edge of the foreground branches. Also, the sky takes on a less-lively look, and the background trees are a bit too heavy with the mid-tones.

Joshua, Thank You for your comments. I see you are in CO. I will have to get in contact with you next time I go. I would love to do one of your workshops.
Taylor, Yes, I think it is because the wind that day and the HDR. It's not too bad but I noticed it too.
Ben, I LOVE HDR and have been doing it since 2008. I love the effect of it. I love all the details that it brings. Some people don't like it, my eye loves HDR and all the effects. It's just a MOO and thats ok.

This looks like the effects I get in Photomatix which I then try to tone down. This is a little to HDR for my tastes but I think it would look nice with a little more PS work.

Cindy,
I like this quite a lot - although I will agree with Dan's comments. I think the processing works very well with just a slight lean towards HDR - and in a nice way. To add to the processing I think you have a wonderful scene that was enhanced even. Great sky, clouds and the resulting reflection all seem to meld together in a rather seamless image. And I like what you've presented.

This is a very interesting, yet somewhat nonconventional composition. It works really well and I like it! Great job, Cindy.
