Elm Overload

I have been wandering my neighborhood photographing the autumn color that seems very misplaced for the west coast. It is one of the reasons I love where I live. Most of the photos I made this past week will be posted in the Man & Nature forum, but this one had all hand of man eliminated as a close of an Elm tree on my street that just glowed in the early morning light.

Feedback appreciated.

Nice. I like the intensity of color and the way the light brushes the leafs.

Nice feel to this. I like the placement of the lines of the branches.

rich, glowing color. Branches balance the leaves and add structure. Nice image

Reminds me of a bird's feathers- they emit quite a glow. The holes in the canopy a little distracting, but overall beautiful textures and light you found, and you didn't have to travel thousands of miles to find it!

Nice--it's just dripping with color! The bits of sky are a minor distraction. Will have to check out the M&N shots...

Another very pretty shot Youssef, but I have to agree with Stan. The first thing my eyes wanted to do was identify the object in the UL that turned out to be sky peaking through.

The soft light and the touches of highlights make a great combination. The few areas of sky within the leaves doesn't really bother me. Nice shot.

The glowing color is indeed the star of the image and the bits of trunk weaving through the leaves pull it all together. The spots of sky bug me, but its not that big of a deal.

Youssef,

I've been so tempted to go out and shoot some local color - maybe there's still time. This is quite lovely and I can picture in my mind this tree hanging over a driveway, along a main street, or where ever, but you did a great job in isolating this and let us imagine this could be anywhere, in a deep forested canyon perhaps? Simple design, good eye.

I might be inclined to clone the biggest bright patch, but that's not really a big deal here.

Wonderful glow and color, Youssef. I too might do something to diminish the impact of the sky poking through but its a minor thing. Really nice. You are fortunate to live in a neighborhood with such beautiful trees.

What a lovely take on the Bay Area fall season. I love the burst of color and the play of light.
